FORMING AN ECOLOGICAL CULTURE OF STUDENTS – FUTURE CHEMISTS IN THE PROCESS OF ECOLOGICALLY-ORIENTED TEACHING OF ENGLISH

Abstract: 
The article is devoted to the subject of forming an ecological culture of personality. The goal of the present investigation is to determine an opportunity of creating an ecological culture of students – future chemists in the process of ecologically-oriented teaching of English. This research defines the ecological culture of personality as a number of components of an ecological outlook, including the aesthetic perspective, ecological knowledge, ecological norms, ecological values, which enable the development of ecological activity. The structure of ecological culture of students – future chemists is dependent upon the specifics of their activity and the goals of the formation of a professional culture. The formation of ecological culture is a global, multi-disciplinary educational goal that should be pursued in every subject area making it ecologically oriented. Practical analysis has revealed sufficient educational potential in humanitarian sciences for comprehensive personality development as well as significant possibilities to create ecological student culture. The creation of ecological culture is implemented in the English-language instruction content by using ecologically oriented course materials which are introduced by methods allowing the learning process to resemble and imitate future professional activity. The conclusions made in the course of this investigation will broaden scientific ideas on the content aspects of pedagogical activity of instructors teaching English. In order to ensure that the initial suppositions are well founded a variety of pertinent complimentary methods were used: an analysis of related literary works and methods of comparison and direct and indirect observation.
